| Imagine... |
everybody reading the same book and
discussing with their friends and neighbors the themes,
characters, plots and twists of one book-- chosen by members of
the Amsterdam community by popular vote, to be announced in
early November.
Amsterdam Reads 2008 is being spearheaded by a group of
Amsterdam area citizens who have caught the fever of the
community read phenomenon that is sweeping the country.
The Steering Committee consists of local individuals, including
educators, authors, business people, lawyers, and others. The
idea is to include the participation of other groups such as
book clubs, church and synagogue groups, senior organizations,
and the schools. |
